1. Who we are
KidTivity is operated by Junior Streeks, a sole trader trading as KidTivity, of Flat 9 Oak House, 159 Croydon Road, Penge, London SE20 7UB, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal data described here, which means we decide how and why it is used. Contact us at support@kidtivity.co.uk.
2. What we collect and why
We deliberately keep this to the minimum we need to run the app. In short, we collect the parent's email address and a broad postcode area so we can match you with your partner and filter activities by distance.
- Account details — your email address, a first name or display name of your choosing, and login credentials, used to create and secure your account and to sign you in. If you sign in with Google we receive only your email address, name and profile picture from Google — never your Google password. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
- Broad location — your postcode, used only to show activities near you and to power distance filters. We do not track your precise or live location. Legal basis: contract.
- Matching data — the activities you swipe on, your matches, your invite code and the partner account you are linked to, used to run the core matching feature. Legal basis: contract.
- Membership data — your KidTivity Plus status, renewal dates and subscription identifiers received from Stripe, used to unlock paid features for you and your linked partner. Legal basis: contract.
- Support messages — what you send us by email, used to answer you. Legal basis: legitimate interests in supporting our users.
- Technical and usage data — device type, browser, IP address and error or usage logs, used to keep the Service secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve the product. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
3. We do not collect data about children
KidTivity is for parents and carers, not for children. We do not collect or store children's names, dates of birth, ages tied to a named child, photographs or any other information that identifies a child. Age filters work on broad age bands attached to activities, never to a child's profile. The app is intended for users aged 18 or over, and we ask that you do not enter any details about your children anywhere in the app.
4. Payments
Payments for KidTivity Plus are processed securely by Stripe. Your card number, expiry date and security code are entered on Stripe's own secure checkout and are never sent to or stored on our servers. We receive only confirmation of your payment, your membership status and renewal dates, and the last four digits and card brand where Stripe shares them for your receipts.
5. Who we share it with
- Your linked partner — your display name, swipes, matches and membership status, as that is the purpose of linking.
- Service providers — hosting, database, authentication and error monitoring providers who process data on our instructions.
- Stripe, our payment processor, for taking payments, managing subscriptions and issuing receipts and refunds.
- Professional advisers such as accountants or lawyers, where needed.
- Authorities where we are required to by law.
We do not sell your personal data.
6. International transfers
Some of our providers process data outside the UK and EEA. Where that happens we rely on UK adequacy regulations or on standard contractual clauses with appropriate safeguards, so your data keeps an equivalent level of protection.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your account data for as long as your account is open, and for up to 12 months afterwards in case you return or a dispute arises. Records connected to payments are kept for 6 years to meet UK tax and accounting rules. After that, data is deleted or anonymised.
8. Signing out and deleting your data
You can sign out at any time from the Settings tab or from the menu in the top-right of the swipe deck, which clears your session from that device. You can also unlink from your partner at any time in Settings, which stops any further sharing between your accounts.
To have your account and personal data deleted, email support@kidtivity.co.uk from the address on your account. We will verify it is you and erase your data within 30 days, apart from payment records we must keep by law.
9. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access your data, correct it, have it erased, restrict or object to how we use it, receive a portable copy, and withdraw consent where we rely on it. Email support@kidtivity.co.uk and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
10. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls and database rules that stop one account reading another's data.
11. Cookies and similar technologies
We use essential cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences — the app cannot work without these. Our payment provider sets cookies needed to run checkout securely. We do not use advertising cookies. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, though signing in may then stop working.
